Bison was founded in 1997 by Creative Director Brian Tunks.
Brian’s background training in ancient history and archaeology combined with a love of Asian ceramics led him to design a range of ceramics in a pared back aesthetic with simple lines and pure colours. Made from the finest materials the pieces are produced in many colours and textures.
Over the years Bison has evolved into bisonhome, a lifestyle range with ceramics and beautiful blown glassware, which have become Australian design classics and a staple item in many homes around the world. Each piece of glass is hand-crafted and therefore unique. From an initial set of three vases the glassware range has grown to include tumblers, bowls, lamps, with many more designs yet to come.
bisonhome ceramics and glassware is designed by Brian and produced in collaboration with glass and ceramics studios in Thailand, Indonesia, and India.
